Waifu2x is an AI-powered image upscaling tool that uses deep convolutional neural networks to enlarge images while preserving quality. Originally designed for anime and manga artwork, it now also works excellently on photos and illustrations. It can upscale images by 2x or 4x while reducing noise and artifacts.

Use 'Anime/Art' mode for anime, manga, illustrations, digital art, logos, and images with flat colors and clean lines. Use 'Photo' mode for photographs, realistic images, and natural scenes. The AI model is optimized differently for each style to produce the best results.

Waifu2x supports PNG, JPG, JPEG, and WebP formats for upload. The maximum file size is 5MB. Processed images are downloaded as high-quality PNG files to preserve the enhanced quality without additional compression loss.

Processing time depends on your image size and selected settings. Most images are processed within 5-15 seconds. Larger images and 4x upscaling take longer. You'll see a progress indicator showing the current processing stage.
